A St. Pete Beach employee has been arrested for using a city-issued gas card to fuel non-city vehicles. The employee, John Sappington, reportedly used the card to purchase over $550 worth of gasoline for personal use. An investigation revealed that Sappington had been using the card for several months, resulting in a total of 23 unauthorized transactions. Sappington is facing charges of grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. The city has since cancelled the gas card and is taking steps to prevent future misuse of city funds. Read More... |
