Kara Lawson's 'Handle Hard Better' Message Elevates New Heights Elementary |
Kara Lawson, renowned head coach of the Duke University Blue Devils and the U.S. Women's National Team, recently visited New Heights Elementary School in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Her impactful 'Handle Hard Better' message has become a guiding principle for the school's students and staff.
Under the leadership of Principal Chris Boulanger, New Heights transformed from a 'D' to an 'A' rated school in 2024.
Boulanger attributes this success to the resilience and determination inspired by Lawson's message.
During her visit, Lawson engaged with students, emphasizing their capacity to overcome challenges.
She stated, "Every day is not going to be easy for you, but you are capable of handling hard, and you are capable of being tough enough to do great things."
Students eagerly sought her autograph and shared personal notes, expressing how her words have motivated them.
Lawson's journey includes a WNBA championship, an Olympic gold medal, and a pioneering role as Duke's first female head coach.
Her visit left a lasting impression on the New Heights community, reinforcing the power of perseverance and positive mentorship. |
